ABOUT US

• Charnwood House is a non-profit making organisation that provides housing and support services to people with mental health difficulties and homeless people with individual support needs.

• We are a non-registered housing association and provider of accommodation and support services

• We provide good quality accommodation in a homely setting. You would have your own bedroom and use of shared kitchen, bathroom, lounge and dining facilities. Our aim is to enable and support our customers in their endeavours to develop or sustain their independence in relation to their accommodation and support needs.

• Service users will generally stay with us for a period of 6 months. During this time, we work with them to help them prepare for moving onto a range of independent living options. Some of our service users, however, have been with us for considerably longer and our role with them is to sustain their current levels of independence and to assist them in preventing their return to more institutional settings.

• Our aim is to provide accommodation and support services to vulnerable people within the community in order to promote their independent living.

• People are at the centre of all of our work and their views and needs are what determines how, where and when they receive support and who supports them.

• All our service users have support plans, which are regularly monitored, updated and reviewed with them. Our support plans cover a wide range of issues including general social care needs. We work closely with the NHS, Social Services and local authority housing and homelessness agencies to contribute to a comprehensive package of support.

• We are regulated by the Government through the Supporting People Programme and the District Council. Both of these regularly inspect and monitor the provision of our services.
